Black Walnut
This beautiful clean slab of Walnut has a curly grain pattern.
All of our slabs air dry for 3 summers then get vaccum kiln dried. Then we surface them so we can see the grain, any straight lines on the face are from the surfacing machine we use to show the grain.
Any grey areas or dark areas are most likely where the raw wood is still exposed. The surfacing machine hasn't hit that area of the wood. If you want them removed it will make the slab thinner. Usually we would choose whats the top and how much of the wood we are using and then surface that side accordingly.
Any of our wood products can be turned into a finished piece by one of our on-site craftsman. We use a Italian urethane sprayed on for a finish with a satin sheen. Additional cost for this service TBD once details/schematics are provided.
The pallet weight is already added to the wood weight. Longer slabs require 2 pallets.
